Charges

1. What is the charge to Replace or Purchase a Meter?

There is a charge of $265.00 to have a meter replaced. Regular Hours 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. ( installation by m.u.a.)

Meter Installed After Hours 4:01 P.M. to 7:59 A.M. will be charged $380.00.

There is a charge of $200.00 to purchase a meter.  ( no installation )

2. Is there a minimum charge for the water I use?

Yes, there is a minimum charge per quarter for the water you use. A $71.00 charge includes 15,000 gallons per unit.

 

3. Is there a minimum residential charge for the use of the LEHMUA sewer system?

Yes, there is a minimum residential charge for each unit using the LEHMUA sewer system. This charge is $110.00 per quarter for 15,000 gallons of discharge into the LEHMUA sewer system.

Garbage Disposal Units…….$25.00 each.

4. What are the charges for a commercial unit using the LEHMUA sewer system?

The base charge for a commercial unit per quarter using the LEHMUA sewer system are the exact same charge as a residential unit.

Sewer – $110.00 per unit per quarter, discharging 15,000 gallons.

The Commercial excess discharge over the 15,000 base is a $6.00 per thousand gallons.

 

5. Are the water charges for a commercial establishment different from a residential establishment?

The commercial charge for water usage is the same as the residential charge.

Water charge per one (1) unit = $71.00 per quarter for 15,000 gallons. There is a $5.00 charge per thousand gallons of water used over the base of 15,000 gallons per unit.

 

6. Are there different charges to connect to the LEHMUA Water and Sewer System for commercial establishments?

The following is a list of commercial establishments and the various charges for quarterly use of the LEHMUA water and sewer system:

Each family residence with business……… to be determined after submission of application, minimum 2 units.

Rooming or boarding houses……………..to be determined after submission of application, minimum 1 unit plus each rental room minimum 1/2 unit.

Motels and hotels………………………to be determined after submission of application, minimum 1 unit plus each rental room minimum 1/2 unit.

Motels and hotels efficiencies…………..to be determined after submission of application, minimum 1 unit plus each efficiency room 1 unit.

Restaurants, diners, bars and cafes……to be determined after submission of application, minimum 2 units, plus 1 unit for each 20 person capacity.

Gasoline service stations……to be determined after submission of application, minimum 2 units.

Stores or offices………to be determined after submission of application, minimum 1 unit.

Supermarkets…………to be determined after submission of application, minimum 2 units.

Theatres……….to be determined after submission of application, minimum 2 units.

Laundromat…….to be determined after submission of application, minimum 2 units plus each machine 1/2 unit.

Garbage Disposal Units…….$25.00 each.

Beauty Salon……….to be determined after submission of application, minimum 2 units for each 2 chairs plus each additional 2 chairs 1 unit.

Mens barber shop…..to be determined after submission of application, minimum 1 units for two chairs plus each additional 2 chairs 1/2 unit.

Any type of use not herein set forth shall be covered by an independent survey after submission of application. The authority will determine annual rate and charges thereafter.

 

7. If I use more than 15,000 gallons of water in the quarter billing cycle, what is the charge?

If the unit uses more than 15,000 gallons of water in a quarter, the charge is $5.00 per thousand gallons used.

 

8. How do I know the number of units to be charged for water use and for sewer use per quarter?

The following are residential definitions and the unit charge:

Each family residence……….minimum 1 unit.

9. Is there a charge to connect to the LEHMUA fire suppression system?

The LEHMUA charge will be based on the size of the water main providing water to the Fire Protection system. There six (6) categories of service size, each with a different annual fee (AF). These categories are the following:

For each less than 4 inch service = $500.00 (AF)

For each 4 inch service = $700.00 (AF)

For each 6 inch service = $1,200.00 (AF)

For each 8 inch service = $1,700.00 (AF)

For each 10 inch service = $2,200.00 (AF)

For each 12 inch service = $2,700.00 (AF)

 

10. Are there charges to have my water turned on or off?

Are there charges to have my water turned on or off?

The Water Turn OFF/ON fee is $65.00 per turn on or turn off during business hours, after hours $175.00

 

11. How much is it to purchase a new meter bottom?

To purchase a new meter bottom is $20.00.

 

12. What is the charge for Meter Transmitting Unit (MTU)?

The charge for an MTU is $175.00

 

13. What is the charge to have a Meter Bottom installed?

There is a $75.00 Charge to have a Meter Bottom installed.

 

14. Is there a charge if I want to get my water meter tested for accuracy?

Yes, there is a charge of $100.00 to get your water meter tested for accuracy.

 

15. Is there a charge for a water final read for a closing?

Yes, there is a $25.00 charge for us to do a final read for a closing.

 

16. What is the charge if we receive a return check?

The charge for a return check is $30.00.
