LEHMUA Billing

1. How many billing periods are there in the LEHMUA system?

There are four periods of billing in the yearly LEHMUA billing cycle. This is a quarterly billing yearly cycle.

 

2. What are the LEHMUA billing cycle due dates?

The LEHMUA billing cycle due dates are February 10th, May 10th, August 10th, and November 10th.

 

3. IF I use more than 15,000 gallons of water in a billing cycle, on what bill am I charged for the excessive use?

If the unit uses more than the minimum amount of water (15,000 gals.) in a given quarter, the excessive gallons of water charge go on the next quarterly bill.

 

4. What happens if my account becomes delinquent?

If your account becomes delinquent, it is subject to a 1 1/2 % delinquent charge monthly.

ANY DELINQUENT ACCOUNT AS OF NOVEMBER 10TH OF THE CURRENT TAX YEAR WILL BE PLACED ON THE TAX SALE LIST. ACCOUNTS ON THIS LIST WILL BE SUBJECT TO ADDITIONAL COSTS.

THE ANNUAL TAX SALE IS SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER OF THE CURRENT TAX YEAR.

 

5. Why did the format of the MUA bill change?

Over the years we have heard your concerns about the postcard bill the Authority sends you. Some customers did not want their private billing information left open for others to see. Others wanted a return envelope for their payment remittance. We also have been informed that the postcard bills were being lost in the mail or even caught in other pieces of mail. Also, we received comments that the format of the bill was difficult to follow. We have taken all your comments and created a new format for the bills, which addresses the concerns you had. We believe this new billing format will accommodate all your needs and concerns.
